Sharon Cochran Jensen, D.V.M. I bought Blue Mountain Animal Clinic in 2007. A 1984 graduate of Washington State University College of Vet. Med, I am a native of Bellingham, Washington (as were my father and grandfather). I'm an avid boater and gardener, and truly enjoy the practice of veterinary medicine. My husband Bill and I have been married 20 years - Bill is very active in the local Audubon Society (including the Puget Sound Oil Spill Committee), the Bonsai Society, and serves on Sequim Speaks. I'm in my 'cat phase' of life, serve by invitation on the AAFP's research review committee and live surrounded by felines Leif, Susie and Walter. I lost my heart to Clancy, my perfect Golden Retriever, many years ago. A metal sculpture of Clancy graces the front entry to the clinic, courtesy of my dear friend, Dana Hyde.
Meg Gordon, D.V.M. graduated from Michigan State U Veterianary School this year and joined us in June of 2009. With an earlier degree from Princeton in earth sciences, Dr. Gordon met her husband, Vince, on one of her expeditions to study global warming. She and her husband love the area and have plans for many outdoor adventures, along with their three silly and wonderful dogs: Tupalo, Hank, and Baxter, the self cleaning Bassett Hound. In addition to her incredible intellectual skills, Dr. Gordon brings the compassion and devotion you have come to expect at Blue Mountain Animal Clinic.
Jack Thornton, D.V.M. founded the clinic in the 1970s. A Washington State University graduate, Dr. Thornton continues to work part time at the clinic, enjoying cutting back a bit after so many years of hard work. He has written many charming stories of his 30 years as a veterinarian in the rural Olympic Peninsula, which are published in the Sequim Gazette. Dr Thornton will be retiring August 31, 2010.
